False - The earliest rudimentary designs that we would today recognize as a parachute first appeared during the Renaissance in an anonymous Italian manuscript, could have been Da Vinci, dating back to the 1470s; but Da Vinci did not start really getting into Math and Science until a little later. Later, as in 1485 when Leonardo’s parachute appears in his Codex Atlanticus.
